Unfortunately the Energy Efficiency Tax Credits were allowed to expire by Congress on December 31, 2011.

The federal government is only offering tax credits for renewables namely:

  • Geo Thermal Heat Pumps
  • Residential Wind Turbines
  • Solar Water Heaters
  • Solar PV Systems

The tax credits for the previous items cover 30% of labor and material costs with no upper limit.

  • Residential Fuel Cells

The tax credit for residential fuel cells covers 30% of labor and material costs with an upper limit of $500 per 0.5 kW of power capacity.
